FAQs
Q: Is The Seven Nation Army a clan ? A: No, and we’ve no intention of becoming one. We’re a public server community, and proud of it. Q: Can I join ? A: Anybody can join the community we started — just play on the server and post in the forum — We may institute the concept of membership later. Q: Where are you guys from ? A: Seven Nations including Europe and the USA. Q: Where is your server located ? A: London, England. Q: I’ve been banned! What for, and how do I get unbanned ? A: If you’re banned, it probably means your behaviour was unacceptable and are no longer welcome on our server. Some bans are temporary, some are permanent. We don’t keep records about which is which. The only bans which will be lifted are cases of administrator error, and the request for unbanning must come from the admin who pushed the wrong button, not from the player affected. This happens rarely though, and our admins are man enough to admit their mistakes, so innocent players needn’t worry . Q : Bots are naff compared to playing with real people – why bother with them ? A: They surely are, there’s no doubt. We put a bunch of bots on the server to give the first human players something to shoot at whilst waiting for more folks to join. Without the bots, most players get bored and leave before the server fills up. Q: Where do the bot names come from ? A: They’re named after characters from various movies, tv shows and animations favoured by the founders of the now defunct Self Preservation Society server. Q: I like the map dod_insertnamehere – can we have it on the server ? A: Post a request in map section of the forum, and we’ll have a look at it. If we like it too, we’ll stick it on. Q: Some plonker was teamkilling and/or being very abusive on comms – how do I report them? A: Make a post in our Name and Shame page on the forum and say what happened, who did it (name or Steam ID), time and date, and what map you were on. We’ll review the logs and take appropriate action. Q: I saw somebody who was cheating – how do I report them ? A: Be very sure before you call someone a cheat. Skilled players are entitled to play in peace just like anyone else. We have little patience for people who make silly accusations. If you have a genuine concern, record a demo of the suspect and submit it with their Steam ID to the Name and Shame page on the forum. We’ll review the demo and act upon our findings. Q: Do you have a stats page anywhere ? A: Nope. In our experience keeping statistics changes the way people play. Too many players get focused on their points tally at the expense of playing for the fun of it, and that's a sad thing
